In the 1950s, Ava Gardner met Paul Vacher, perfumer and owner of the Le Galion perfume house. Captivated by her aura, he offered her the role of face for Sortilège, one of the house's great classics. The success was immense. Charmed by this collaboration, Ava Gardner then asked Paul Vacher to create a bespoke fragrance, designed exclusively for her. An admirer of feminine elegance, he enthusiastically agreed and composed the fragrance that would become L'Astre.

In 2023, Le Galion finally revealed to the public this long-kept secret: L'Astre, a contemporary reinterpretation of a formula that remained private for decades. Created in collaboration with the Ava Gardner Foundation and her heirs, who opened their archives, L'Astre captures the brilliance of two 20th-century icons, whose influence continues to shine brightly today.
